Art-Net Controller – IS3740

The IS3740 is an Art-Net controller chip. It receives the DMX data from your microcontroller via SPI and converts it to Art-Net data. This chip handles all the Ethernet protocol complexity.

How Does It Work?

The chip provides two interfaces:

• An SPI interface for your microcontroller, FPGA, Arduino, etc.
  ➜ This is where your system writes the DMX data.
• A RMII interface to connect your preferred Ethernet PHY transceiver chip, like the LAN8720.
  ➜ This is where the chip acces the Ethernet to inject the Art-Net data.
